Whitstone Head School is a small, co-educational, Non-Maintained Special School for children with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. 

 

We are registered by the Department for Education (DfE) to take up to 37 pupils aged from 10 to 16 years (32 boarding and 5 day places or 31 boarding and 6 day places ).

 

The school is Approved by the Secretary of State to meet the education, care, health, mental health and well-being needs of children and young people who are "emotionally fragile and vulnerable and who may have associated complex difficulties".

 

Since 2005, provision at Whitstone Head School has been consistently identified as outstanding by the Commission for Social Care Inspection and by Ofsted. In each inspection since 2008, the school has been recognised by Ofsted as an "outstanding provider of education, care and skills". 

 

JUNE 2011 - Our most recent inspection report shows how we have built on this success and become "outstanding"  in providing a range of additional services and areas of excellence.  

 

In the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Key Stage 4 Achievement and Attainment Tables, the achievement of pupils at Whitstone Head School placed it in the top 5% of all schools nationally.  

 
 

Meeting Individual Needs 

 

We meet pupils' individual needs through personalised support provided by a range of on-site specialist services. Ofsted has rated the quality of provision and services offered by the school as 'outstanding' (Ofsted, April 2008).
